Robertstown promised a Mobile Phone Tower for the Area

During the Australian Government's Election Campaign for the 2016 election, the Prime Minister, Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP made a commitment on the 24th May 2016 that if the Coalition Government was re-elected, they would allocate another $60 million to extend the Mobile Black Spot Programme.

On the evening of the 24th May 2016, the Communication's Officer for the Robertstown Community Management Inc Committee, Mr Adrian Menzel received a phone message from the Federal Member for the area, Mr Rowan Ramsey MP to ring him urgently.

The phone call was made and Rowan wanted to know if Adrian could attend his office in Port Pirie at 10am the next day for a Media Release.

Adrian duly attended to find out that Mr Turnbull had told Mr Ramsey that he should select 3 locations within his electorate that would not normally be successful within the Round selection and Rowan selected Robertstown, Maree and Bute/Alford.

The local TV Station in Port Pirie, Southern Cross TV were in attendance for the media release and filmed it which was part of the News Edition for the Station that evening.

This is what viewer's saw on the News Program.

This was done in advance of the Round 3 announcement of successful locations which is planned to take place at the end of 2017 as the Government's announcement of the extra $60 million targeted 125 specific priority locations throughout Australia.

Priority Locations selected in Australia

We now wait for the commencement of construction.
