A visit to "Greenacres" to see animals |
On Monday, 18th September 2006 Years 3, 4 & 5 with their teacher Mrs Jenny Schmidt and parent Mrs Sue Stacey rode their bikes to "Greenacres" owned by Val & Adrian Menzel to have a look at their collection of animals.

The group on arrival |
The group was greeted by Val and then they had a look at the animals, which include:
| Kangaroos | Galahs | White Cockatoos | Indian Ringneck Parrots | Doves |
| Cattle | Pigs | Goats | Sheep | Dogs |
| Fowls | Ducks | Geese | Cockatoo Parrots | Budgies |
| Cats | Quails |
After the children had looked at the animals, a question & answer session was conducted where Val explained that she enjoyed looking after any orphaned animals and also if any are injured, people can bring them to her to look after.
In some instances, like kangaroos, a permit is required to keep them and she has one.
Val asked the children if they had learnt anything from the visit and they all agreed that they did, which made it worthwhile.
One of the children then thanked Val & Adrian for allowing them to visit.
